Director: Josh Harvey
Local Missions is part of the overall mission strategy of Washington Baptist Church. We believe that in order to be obedient to the Great Commission to take the gospel around the world, we must first minister to the community in which we live. To that end Washington participates in a number of projects locally. Washington cooperates with other churches in the Greer Baptist Association to meet needs locally.
Mission Quest
Each summer the youth, along with some adults, from Washington do mission work in the Greer area. The work includes Bible Schools in communities, and construction projects for the needy.
Mission Projects
The mission team cooperates with the Men’s Ministry to build wheelchair ramps and other construction projects as needed in the community. RAs and GAs also have workdays to do yard work for senior adults.
Ongoing Mission Efforts
- Volunteers drive buses for Greer Christian Learning Center
- Volunteers tutor children after school at CenterQuest
- Volunteers help serve food at Daily Bread Ministries
Washington also financially supports many local ministries financially through our budget. Below you will see recent photos of our Local Missions group working at the Greer Soup Kitchen, just one of the many mission organizations Washington Baptist Church supports.
